Pre-Discharge Personal Financial Management Course

Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Inc. (CCCS) is approved to issue certificates evidencing completion of a personal financial management instructional course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Once you have completed the personal financial management course, you will be issued a certificate which is needed for your bankruptcy to be discharged. Your bankruptcy case number is required in order to register for this class. YOU MUST FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY BEFORE TAKING THIS CLASS.

When a limited English proficiency client indicates to CCCS staff that they need interpretative services or need additional resources for interpretation beyond the resources that may be provided by family, friends or community agencies, CCCS will engage appropriate services from an approved list of agencies and individuals.

Joint filers will complete the internet course together, spending 2 hours on the course. Refer to the Disclosure Form following the registration for fee information The mailing will also include other material to use along with the course. Using the username and password, you will be able to access the Pre-Discharge Education Class through our website on any day of the week and at any time of the day.

Once you have completed the course, we will be notified, and we will mail a certificate of completion; which is part of the paperwork necessary for your bankruptcy to be discharged. If you have provided an email, your certificate will be emailed to you upon completion. E-mailed certificates will be in a PDF format and can be opened by the Adobe Acrobat software.

All options require you to spend 2 hours in taking the Pre-Discharge Financial Management Course.

The fee for this internet course is $25.00.  If you pay online with a debit card, there is also a $2.50 convenience fee.  You may choose to pay with cash/check at our office or mail in check/money order. We will issue your username/password once we have received payment. If your fee was waived for the counseling, your fee will be waived for this course and you will need to call our office at 316-265-2000 to register and cannot register online.  We offer this course without regard to an attendee's ability to pay. The fee is our only compensation for providing this course. We do not pay or receive fees or other compensation for referring people to attend this seminar.
